D.O.P. Sierra Mágina

This area, located in the central part of the southern side of the province of Jaén, shows a ​​great natural wealth, is part of a natural area protected by the Andalusian administration, on the borders of the province of Granada. This is an area of ​​great natural beauty enhanced by its proximity to the valley of the Guardalquivir river and other water sources. This area is favored by pleasant seasons enhanced by the Mediterranean climate, with hot and dry summers and moderate temperatures durinig the winter. Great olive oils are produced in this region, from thousands-years-old plantations with ancient origin whose olive groves planted by Arabs and Romans. Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and Picual and Manzanilla from Jaén stand out among the oils produced. These are very fruity oils with a high stability and slightly bitter. Their colour varies from deep green to golden yellow, depending on the harvest time and the geographic location of the olive trees within the region.
